The Family & Colonialism Research Network is happy to announce that registration for the upcoming conference, ‘Imperial Relations: Families and the British Empire,’ is now open.
The small international conference will be held at the Institute of Historical Research, Senate House, London, on 5-6 September 2011. The provisional programme is now available, and features a wide range of papers on British imperial family history. Keynote speakers are Adele Perry (University of Manitoba), Elizabeth Buettner (University of York), Elizabeth Elbourne (McGill University), and Rhonda Semple (St. Francis Xavier University).
If you would like to attend, please email us at Colonial.Families@gmail.com with your name, institutional affiliation (if applicable), area of interest, and any catering requirements/food allergies by Friday 12 August 2011.
Thanks to the generous support of the Economic History Society, the Royal Historical Society, and University College London, we have been able to reduce the conference fee to £10 per person (including wine reception on the first day). This will be collected in cash on the first day of the conference.
We look forward to seeing you in September!
